The Six-Million Dollar Man and the American Dream

Many of you are too young to remember the old television series about a former astronaut, USAF Colonel Steve Austin, portrayed by Lee Majors. Steve Austin had superhuman strength, speed, and vision due to bionic implants and was employed as a secret agent by a U.S. government agency.

In today’s business world many of us long for the bionic implants that would give us superhuman strength, speed or success. We just want to be successful and profitable and build a better life for ourselves and our family. We want the American dream to be realized!

Regardless of your political affiliation or attitudes we have an election upon us soon that give each of us a choice,  both candidates for President claim in a way that they are the next “Six Million Dollar Man”I think there is wisdom in deciding to just be the Six Million Dollar Man or Woman for yourself.  Too often, in politics, we are let down by those that overpromise and under-deliver. In business, we recognize that the opposite is a good business plan and approach, “underpromise and over-deliver.”

We don’t need bionic implants to realize the American Dream, but a few good tools used in a smart and consistent approach will make us and our team more effective and efficient with the public.
